candidate has proposed a "Blue Plan" which consists of "industrially exploiting
the riches of the Saint-Laurent", and we listen to him, obediently, unfolding his
neoliberal vision. Let us remember that the last time this party was in power,
the Liberal Minister of the Environment had maintained that the drilling of the
oil company TransCanada in a nursery of beluga whales off Cacouna was
"necessary". I can also assure you that the multimillionaire leader of the
Liberals will never massively tax wealth as demanded by environmental groups. No
climate justice without social justice.

The PQ had as leaders Lucien Bouchard the spokesperson for the oil industry and
Pierre Karl Péladeau le Gargamel inc.; the political party was in power only 18
months the last time and it found a way to propose drilling Anticosti Island for
oil, building the McInnis cement plant in Gaspésie (the most polluting project in
history of the province) and to pollute the social climate of Quebec with their
Charter of values.

The least bad environmental party, Québec Solidaire, is nevertheless favorable to
the extension of Highway 20 eastward, to the lithium mining rush, barely
addresses the delicate question of the production and consumption of meat and
refuses the decrease. Also, as Pierre-Olivier Pineau of HEC Montréal explains
about our lifestyles: "QS avoids explaining head-on to voters that they will have
to learn to live with significant direct constraints, particularly on the use
car." Because it is not enough to offer more public transport, we must also
radically constrain solo driving to have results. But, the energy sector expert
admits all the same that the QS climate plan is "among the most documented and
the most serious that I have seen"[1].

For his part, the gruff candidate of the Climate Quebec party, a former Bloc
member, nonchalantly read his sheets between two naps during the electoral
debate, constantly repeating that he would not be elected and wondering what he
was doing there. Moreover, on the airwaves of CFYX, the candidate invited the
population to vote strategically for... the PQ candidate![2]However, during the
debate, the Climate Quebec candidate had come out in favor of a revolution in our
morals, of our ways of producing, of our consumerism, blah blah... We have to
believe that in the end, there is continuity after 28 years of PQ power in Rimouski.

Absent from the debate, having refused to participate, the CAQ candidate has
never been so relevant and honest in terms of ecology. After 4 years, let's
remember what is being said: "the[environmental]assessment of the CAQ weighed
down by a lack of coherence and vision"[3], as well as "the experts consulted by
Le Devoir agree on one point: the CAQ plan will not make it possible to achieve
the objective[climate]of 2030. Speaking of missing his target, special mention to
Philippe Cousineau Morin, this Rimouski municipal councilor, who publicly
supported the CAQ candidate "for his concern for the environment".

to consider that democracy deserves better than parliamentarism where the people
give up their vote every four years. The incantation of "It doesn't matter for
whom, the important thing is to vote" demonstrates how the parties and their
imagination come straight from an assembly line of a political factory producing
various shades of green capitalism.

During the elections, the political parties catapult us human beings as
candidates, but once the votes have been collected, they pack everything up, so
the population finds itself faced with a bureaucratic system, a violent state and
addresses a cold machine.
