Today's general strike was another point of mass manifestation of the accumulated
social anger throughout the country both for the state-capitalist crime in Tempiand overall for the policies of impoverishment and exploitation experienced bythe large social majority. ---- In Athens, since the morning, tens of thousandsof demonstrators began to gather in the center of the city, while the policeforces that for three days had blockaded the rectorship of the EKPA, after it wasoccupied by the movement of students for the libertarian organization in basis,they retreated. In front of the occupied rectory, the strike gathering of theAthens local coordination of the Anarchist Political Organization took place,whose bloc headed towards the square. Klathmonos, from where he marched to theparliament with the participation of hundreds of demonstrators.The mass strike demonstration was subjected to repeated and violent repressiveattacks by the uniformed assassins of the state. Strike blocs were savagelybeaten like that of the Bicycle Riders Workers Base Assembly in Constitution,attacks with chemicals and flash grenades in the crowd, injuries, violent arrestsand beatings of protesters by a security vehicle, a police crane and a cage, madeup the crescendo of police action, aimed at intimidating and terrorizing thepeople who flooded the streets.After the dispersal of the main mass of the demonstration, the streets do notempty. Hundreds gathered at the University outside the occupied rectory repel thepolice forces. Despite the re-blocking of the rectory by repression units justbefore 18.00, the announced open meeting of the occupation took place with theparticipation of students and solidarity people.In Thessaloniki, after the end of the strike demonstration, 15 comrades andcomrades of the Mundo Nuevo occupation reoccupied the vacated building, in whichsheet metal, cameras and an alarm had been installed. The recapture of MundoNuevo was met with an immediate and violent police attack on the solidarity crowdand the guarding of the building. The uniformed assassins of the state evacuatedthe building again and arrested the comrades inside.The all-out attack by the state and capital, with the privatization oftransportation, health, education, natural resources, the state murders ofrefugees and immigrants in the Aegean and the Evros, the cold-blooded murders ofRoma Nikos Sampanis and Kostas Fragoulis, the worker murders in the warehouses ofwage slavery, the evictions of primary residences, the precision, thecommercialization of public spaces, the state repression against those whostruggle and the attacks on squatters and places of struggle, it is confrontedwith social and class resistances. The large demonstrations and strikes, thecontinuous mobilizations, the occupations of universities, art schools andtheaters, the occupation of the EKPA rectorate by students and the reoccupationof Mundo Nuevo send the message that the only bulwark against the state andcapitalist barbarism is social upheaval, social self-organization, classsolidarity and collective struggle.The goal of power and its managers was and is terrorism, control and profit, atany cost.
