On the occasion of March 30 - International Day of Domestic and Care Workers -the CGT continues to demand the recognition of all their labor rights ----Domestic and care workers, integrated into a highly feminized and precarioussector , have been demanding for years the recognition of their work in the sameway as the rest of the workers in the reproductive sectors, as opposed to thestrictly productive ones. ---- One of these demands, which today are demands, isthat they be included in the General Social Security Scheme in order to haveaccess to all the rights established in the Women Workers Statute, such as theright to receive unemployment benefits when they are fired. Domestic workersbelong to the Special System of the General Regime and this does not allow themto access rights such as unemployment benefit, nor does it contribute for theirreal salary, but based on different sections.It should be noted that on many occasions the situation of these workers isaggravated due to institutional racism that prevents migrants from regularizingtheir administrative situation, with which their rights are further compromised,if possible, being forced to work without registering in Social Security with allthat this implies.A separate case is that of the internal workers who, as reported by the sector,often have to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which is why they do nothesitate to point out that they work in obvious conditions of slavery, From the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) of the Valencian Country andMurcia they state that they stand in solidarity "with their fight againstinstitutional, social and political discrimination by action, omission, inaction,invisibility and conscious and unconscious exclusion to which the industryprofessionals". And they add: "We encourage the entire membership to support andaccompany them in their calls as the CGT has been doing throughout these years,while we encourage the compañeras to organize together with us and together webreak with the chains of precariousness".
