The CIT closes in Hannover the last session of its highestdecision-making body, its congress , leaving a stronger and morecohesive organization. ---- At this meeting, the international sectionsfederated in the CIT have debated at length different current issues, from the future of the international and its expansion to other parts ofthe world, through support for projects in conflict zones such as Rojavaand aid to precarious workers in Myanmar. ---- The congress, organizedby the local union, FAU, in a natural environment, has taken place asplanned, where camaraderie and respect between the different sectionshas prevailed. Aided by translators, we have addressed the agenda itemsin English and Spanish, having in-depth debates and reaching resolutionsfor the next 5 years, until the next congress.Changes are made within the planned rotation within the internalorganizational chart. The USI gives way to the CNT to be in charge ofthe treasury for the next 5 years and the IWW-NARA, the currentsecretariat, will give way, within a year, to the USI in the presidencyof the international.Furthermore, yesterday, together with the observers, an enrichinginformal session was held on the future and current work of the CIT,together with various debates of the sections, from the functioning ofeach section, sectors with more strength, the internal formations ofeach union, to the defense of the rights of trans people, against racismand sexism. This congress demonstrates the maturity of the different unions. All thedebates have been enriching and have brought together differentrealities between Europe and America. For example, colleagues from FORA,the Argentine anarcho-syndicalist, explained to us the poor workingconditions they have there. From Poland, the IP tells us about the laborlegislation they suffer from and the ESE, from Greece, about theshortcomings and difficulties they have at the union level and forsolidarity with migrants and refugees.Once again, it is demonstrated that one of the pillars that support theInternational Confederation of Labor are solidarity and mutual support. For this reason, the answer has been affirmative when international helphas been requested from sections, such as the "La Switzerland" conflictin Spain, or from sections that do not belong to the ILC, to support thestrikes in Myanmar , since we understand that they do not We should onlysupport the struggles of the sections belonging to it and thatsolidarity has to be universal between like-minded organizations. Finally, the outgoing secretary of the IWW-NARA closed the congress, thanking all the sections for their attendance and encouraging them tostart working on the resolutions taken and hoping that the growth withinthe sections will continue, with the conviction of the essentiality ofinternationalism for the effectiveness of our struggle as a class.Participating organizations:CNT , National Confederation of Labor, Spain | ESE , EleftheriakíSyndikalistikí Énosi, Greece | FAU , Freie Arbeiter*innen Union, Germany| FORA , Argentine Regional Workers Federation | IP , InicjatywaPracownicza, Poland | IWW-NARA Industrial Workers of the World (NorthAmerican Regional Administration) | USI , Unione Sindacale Italiana, ItalyObserver organizations:CNT-F , Confédération nationale du travail, France | Riders x Rights ,Spain | Vrije Bond , NetherlandsSource: The International Labor Confederation closes its II congress inHannover - ICL-CIT (iclcit.org)PUBLISHED ONNOVEMBER 13, 2023https://organizacion-obrera.fora.com.ar/2023/11/13/la-confederacion-internacional-del-trabajo-cierra-su-ii-congreso-en-hannover/_________________________________________A - I N F O S N E W S S E R V I C EBy, For, and About AnarchistsSend news reports to A-infos-en mailing listA-infos-en@ainfos.ca
