 This international call is raised by the Anarchist Assembly of

Valparaíso together with the anarchist space Flora, because we feel the
need to resort to international solidarity to collaborate in the
material, physical and emotional recovery of the victims of this
capitalist catastrophe in our territory. ---- This call is due to the
eco-social emergency derived from the gigantic urban-forest fires of
gigantic urban-forest fires that hit the communes of Valparaíso, Viña
del Mar and Quilpué located in the territory called Chile, on February 2
and 3.

The fire claimed more than 130 human lives and hundreds and thousands of
non-human lives. In addition, more than 15,000 homes were destroyed or
damaged along with many social centers, popular libraries and other
community spaces.

Capitalist devastation, real estate development, the forestry business
and the housing crisis suffered by the people were the ingredients of
this tremendous tragedy.

As anarchists, our efforts are focused on solidarity with the victims,
especially with the comrades affected and with the political projects
that have been affected.

Given the magnitude of the catastrophe, we see the need to manage an
international fundraising campaign to raise funds directly for the
victims, for the reconstruction of the burned infrastructures and for
the active maintenance of the popular kitchens and the purchase of
materials for the self-managed work crews.
