WORLD WORLDWIDE CANADA PALESTINE - news journal UPDATE - (en) Canada, Collectif Emma Goldman - [Palestine] To confront the Nakba and the ongoing genocide: Resistance until liberation and return (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Ongoing Nakba, ongoing genocide ---- For more than 76 years, the Israeli
apartheid colonial regime has maintained its system of domination and
oppression through a strategy that rests on three pillars: forced
displacement and transfer , colonization and finally apartheid. This
regime is made up of a plethora of policies, practices and laws that
result in the creation, maintenance and increase of the world's oldest
displaced population: 9.17 million Palestinian refugees and internally
displaced people. They continue to be denied their rights to reparation,
including return, restitution of property and compensation, as provided
for in Resolution 194 of the United Nations General Assembly of 1948.
These pillars have in further allowed Israel to control 85% of the lands
of Mandatory Palestine.

After more than seven months of Israel's genocidal war against the Gaza
Strip, Palestinians remain unprotected and continue to be killed,
starved, tortured, besieged and forcibly displaced again and again. As
such, not only is Israel attacking a protected population, but it is
also taking steps to slowly destroy it, turning humanitarian aid into a
weapon of war, to the point of malnutrition and starvation, as well as
destroying infrastructure sanitation and denying health services.

Backed by its colonial allies, Israel has not only refused to ease its
stranglehold and genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, but has also
intentionally withheld much-needed aid from the starving Palestinian
population, particularly in the north. In particular, he deliberately
obstructed the work of UNRWA and many other international agencies.

Palestinian refugees represent 81% of Gaza's population, and also
experience internal displacement: approximately 1.7 million Palestinians
out of the 2.3 million inhabitants of the Gaza Strip are internally
displaced. This represents 75% of the population and constitutes one of
the largest displacements since 1948. It is clear that the genocide in
Gaza is not an isolated event, but rather a component of the ongoing
Nakba, which responds to the Israel's ultimate goal is to control as
much Palestinian land as possible, with as few Palestinians as possible.

Escalation of repression against Palestinians

As part of the ongoing genocidal war against Gaza, Israel has
intensified its repression of Palestinians in the West Bank, including
in Jerusalem and 1948 Palestine. At the same time, Israel has
strengthened its policies aimed at silencing voices. Palestinians.
Confiscation and restrictions on access to land coupled with settler
attacks have led to the murder of hundreds of Palestinians and the
forced displacement of thousands of them.

Israeli forces have heavily targeted Palestinian towns and refugee camps
in the West Bank through daily incursions and raids, killing residents
and destroying public infrastructure as well as homes.

The number of arbitrary arrests has also skyrocketed, with an abundance
of reports of torture and ill-treatment, medical neglect, systematic
abuse, beatings and attacks on prisoners. Furthermore, the Israeli
apartheid colonial regime continues to withhold the bodies of political
prisoners, thereby depriving them of a dignified burial.

Permanent complicity

During 76 years of Nakba, the States of the international community
continued to support the Israeli colonial apartheid regime and guarantee
it impunity, thus ignoring their legal and moral obligations. The
Western colonial powers continue to provide political, financial and
military support to Israel while contenting themselves with a
communication strategy based on empty declarations "deploring a
humanitarian crisis". These states thus became active agents of
genocide, using aid as a weapon of war and supporting Israel in its "day
after plans", including its campaign to withhold funding, eliminate and
to replace UNRWA. While Israel has still not provided evidence for its
allegations, some complicit states have deemed the latest UNRWA
investigation report "insufficient" and continue to block its funding.

Constant resistance and solidarity

Despite more than 76 years of displacement, oppression, ethnic cleansing
and genocide, the Palestinian people remain steadfast in their quest for
liberation and resistance against the apartheid Israeli colonial regime.
Palestinian resistance in all its forms, in Mandatory Palestine and
abroad, is supported by a surge of solidarity across the world. The
efforts of the global solidarity movement stand in stark contrast to the
evident moral and legal bankruptcy of colonial states and their leaders.

Today, more than ever, we reaffirm that the only solution to the ongoing
Nakba is a comprehensive, law-based decolonization process that will
guarantee the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to
self-determination and return.

Palestinian resistance, combined with the sustained and strategic
efforts of the global solidarity movement, is the only way to end
Israel's genocidal war against the Gaza Strip. It is long past time to
sanction and dismantle Israel's apartheid colonial regime, and to ensure
that colonial states are held accountable for their complicity.
