The Etorkinekin-Diakité-solidarity with migrants federation brings
together 11 local associations throughout the Northern Basque Country,which support migrants who settle in our territory. The Diakité
association helps migrants in transit in Bayonne. ---- The federation
carries out an action to welcome and support migrants in solidarity, to
raise public awareness of their situation and to denounce the serious
consequences of the migration policies implemented by France and Europe.
Let's make no mistake. The national gathering will continue in an even
more brutal manner the approach initiated by the Macron-Darmanin government.
By insisting that "foreigners = delinquents", even terrorists; by making
immigration a police issue, viewed solely from a repressive and security
perspective; by presenting immigration as a "problem", a threat or even
a danger, successive governments have created and fueled fears and
prejudices, breeding ground for the extreme right.
Macron-Darmanin passed their racist and antisocial asylum and
immigration law, which validates an important part of the RN program. A
law which, although partly rejected by the constitutional council,
marked a striking and perilous break with fundamental rights, the
essential principles of equality for all before the law without
distinction of origin, condition, belief , belonging, sex or gender.
Moreover, when he supported his bill on (against) immigration promoting
national preference and a reform of land law in Mayotte, President
Macron, as a bulwark against the RN that he claimed to be by claiming to
"fight against what feeds the RN", showed himself to be its most
effective servant.
This is even more repression, precariousness, discrimination and
suffering that hundreds of thousands of exiles will have to endure on
French soil.
The RN's program will consist of further tightening Macron-Darmanin's
measures, not so much to chase away all foreigners - no far-right regime
achieves this, even by building walls - as to further harass them. ,
lead an impossible life for them, place them in an always provisional
and precarious state, where the rights and conditions of existence are
diminished and restricted; make them suffer social exclusion with the
permanent threat of expulsion from the territory.
Furthermore, in line with the approach initiated by the Macron
government, the RN's project is to move ever more towards the
integration into the law of the existence of people and employees at
several levels of rights, with gradations of various statuses ranked
hierarchically according to their degree of precariousness: at the top
of the scale French nationality, at the bottom of the scale undocumented
immigrants and in the middle the different more or less precarious
residence permits, all to accentuate the racial division of the
population and to allow bosses to make their choice according to their
needs.
This precariousness of society does not only concern migrants, but also
all of us.
The coming to power of the extreme right will worsen the situation,
particularly for the weakest or people in situations of exclusion or
precariousness. The extreme right attacks wherever they are in power the
rights of women, foreigners, LGBTQ+ people, poor workers, the unemployed.
What is being done and will be done against migrants is a challenge to
the majority of social achievements and the degradation of the rights of
foreigners prepares for the degradation of the rights of all.
We note with optimism that an offensive and hopeful movement against the
extreme right of society is emerging. We want to participate in
strengthening this fight, to make it the broadest, most massive response
possible which takes place over time and is not swallowed up by party
and electoral interests. .
We want to contribute to building a social project centered on equal
human dignity, with an emancipatory horizon and new rights, in
particular the regularization of all undocumented immigrants, freedom of
movement, without borders.
This fight belongs to all of us, let's not give up!
