and refugees at the water and land borders of Fortress Europe.
The state, faithful to the neoliberal model followed since the years of
the memorandum in the Greek area, continues to increase the cost of
living at an even more intensive pace, while at the same time, uninsured
and precarious work, flexible hours, work intensification,
privatizations and the management by the bosses of all our basic needs
are points that respond to capitalism's need to sharpen class
inequalities and the complete devaluation of our lives. Having left as a
legacy a broken public health system and thousands of dead as a tragic
consequence of the murderous state management of the pandemic, it
attacks those from below by increasing the cost of living. It is clear
that the systematic degradation, the shrinking of health services and
the postponement of scheduled surgeries and treatments lead to the
dismantling of the Public Health System in favor of the market. The
commercialization of health services opens the door for the private
sector to flourish by opening up a market for the benefit of all sorts
of profiteers.
At the same time, skyrocketing rents have left much of the lower classes
unable to meet basic needs such as housing, while condemning others to
homelessness due to eviction. The labor "accidents", the intensification
of work, the reductions in wages, the increases in hours, the conditions
in the workplaces which are constantly deteriorating describe the harsh
working reality that is imposed on us every day, aiming at the
impoverishment and impoverishment of our lives, while worker murders,
which by October 2024 exceeded 100, are the tip of the iceberg of savage
class exploitation in hell of wage slavery. In these conditions, the
state capitalist system accelerates restructurings that target every
manifestation of social life, devaluing basic social needs, work,
health, education, housing, transportation. At the same time, the
imminent establishment of private universities through the "Free
University" law, comes to seal the absolute commercialization of
education, since the recognition of private institutions - even as
branches of supposedly large institutions abroad, in the main core of
the education provided validates the privatization of yet another public
good and at the same time advocates for the constitutional revision of
the article 16.
This sweeping attack on the social base, as a result of the
restructurings of blockades and repression, culminates in the constant
increase in the prices of basic social goods such as fuel, electricity,
heating, bread, oil, while the inhuman condition of auctions of first
homes is further exacerbating the already unbearable living and survival
conditions of the social base. Essentially, we are talking about the
complete degradation of human life at the altar of profit, as can be
seen from the generalized strategy of privatization, in every aspect of
social reality.
Within this framework, the state is shielding itself by strengthening
its legal arsenal, with a typical example being the passing of the
highly reactionary and punitive bill for the new penal code - a direct
attack both on those who struggle and on the poor social strata - and
arming constantly its repressive mechanisms, in the direction of
preventive counter-insurgency and with the perspective of imposing fear,
silence and individualization through the suppression of social and
class resistances as well as to prevent any possibility of a social
explosion, in a period where the great social majority is faced with the
anti-social state restructurings, which lead it towards the spectrum of
destitution and its ever more brutal exploitation. The state and
capitalist system in its attempt to maintain its power attempts to break
through everything collective, to erase the memory of past struggles and
to crush anyone who today stands tall in the ever-escalating state
violence of impoverishment and repression. The suppression of the
occupations, the anarchist movement and the persecution of activists,
the banning of demonstrations and their beating, the tightening of
control, the policing of the inner cities, the attack on the strike and
labor mobilizations, the university asylum and the its social character
and the ongoing state killings of the poor, Roma and refugee-immigrants
are parts of repressive grid of the state for the subjugation of society
and its resistances.
At the same time, the Greek state - fully attached to the Western
chariot of sovereignty - provides its absolute support to the ongoing
genocide against the Palestinians, attempting to further develop its
cooperative relations with the state of Israel. A genocide that takes
place in front of the eyes of the whole world and on the one hand
results in the murder of 40,000 Palestinians, including 13,000 children
and thousands of missing persons and on the other hand in the repression
and persecution inside the Western metropolises of all those who fight
for the ceasefire and the freedom of Palestine.
 From our side, as anarchists, as workers, we cannot but find ourselves
in the streets again in defense of the acquired struggle, the striking -
persecuted teachers, the striking distributors, the health workers, the
call centers, the students, students, researchers against
anti-educational restructurings but also overall for the defense of the
interests of the social majority. Faced with the overall operation of
changing the social place in a dystopia of exploitation, subjugation,
impoverishment, exclusions, unfreedom and repression, the only response
is non-negotiable, unguarded and anti-institutional resistance away from
logics of assignment and beautification of the system. The only path
towards the dystopia they are preparing for us is the further
organization of the social base in schools, colleges, workplaces. The
only way is the continuation and escalation of the struggle through its
further socialization and interconnection with the struggles to defend
all social goods with a view to the total overthrow of the state and
capitalist edifice that breeds and reproduces the exploitation and
oppression of man by man, for a society of equality, solidarity and freedom.
