We thank you for your interest in our labor research, but regretfully we
will decline the invitation to participate in your political book fair.
These are difficult times; they affect even the best of intentions, and
we sincerely regret this...

The excitement that, in March, accompanied the organization of a banal
public discussion on electric cars testifies to the balkanization of the
field of criticism and the activist space. The methods of our
adversaries-maneuvering the enemy into self-destruction-are all the more
effective because we submit to them...

Moreover, since these misadventures, a small circle has been demanding
certificates of respectability from us and erecting a cordon sanitaire
around us. So, to make the party more exciting and the lesson more
widely learned, we're going to indulge in it too.

We decline your invitation because we refuse to participate in an event
that rolls out the carpet for a figure who promotes racialist theories,
condones macho and homophobic behavior, evangelizes endlessly, and,
what's more, calls for a vote for Social Democracy...

You asked us not to feature Acratie's books, specifically targeting
Vanina's works on feminism and postmodernism. Acratie is our publisher;
it publishes numerous other works on libertarian communism, liberation
struggles, etc. Vanina is a comrade with whom we share criticisms of
certain activist practices and has also been unfairly labeled
transphobic. For all these reasons, we refuse to curtail our review and
acknowledge your editorial stance.

We wish you every success for this event and hope to meet again in, who
knows, more enlightened times?

Like you, we were invited to the political book fair taking place this
weekend in Lille. We planned to promote our workers' investigation
"Before Going Around the World, Going Around the Workshop"
(https://editionsacratie.com/avant-de-faire-le-tour-du-monde-faire-le-tour-de-latelier/),
published by Acratie, and at the same time, to share various
publications and writings that can be found on our blog
(https://lamouetteenragee.noblogs.org/).

About two weeks ago, the organizing team of this fair asked us not to
present our publisher's titles (catalogue can be found here -
https://editionsacratie.com/), in particular Vanina's book "Postmodern
Lures Against the Social Reality of Women"
(https://editionsacratie.com/les-leurres-postmoderne-contre-la-realite-sociale-des-femmes-vanina/),
published in 2023. We were also refused permission to exhibit the OCL
newspaper, Courant Alternatif, of which La Mouette Enragée is a local
supplement.

Behind this double censorship lies a certain context in Lille. Last
March, the OCL organized a debate there on the establishment of
gigafactories and the industrial production of electric batteries in the
Hauts-de-France region. We proposed to reflect publicly on these issues.
To introduce the discussion, we invited Tom Jo, a qualified expert on
the subject-a critical analysis of which can be found on this website

A small, misguided clique then worked to ban the discussion, which was
supposed to take place in a public place, a café.
