Many in the US labor movement are fearful as the Trump administration
seeks to dismantle legal protections granted to unions by the NationalLabor Relations Act and regulated by the National Labor Relations Board.
Many see a dismantling of the NLRA as a terrible blow that could topple
the US labor movement as it is just beginning to regain momentum. ----
However, many labor organizers in Southern states have never been
granted protections by the NLRB, especially public sector workers.
Instead, they have had to forge their own creative, often militant,
path. What lessons do Southern labor organizers have to share in this
moment of uncertainty and vicious attacks on the labor movement?
Join us on June 8th for a special discussion with a panel of Southern
rank-and-file public sector workers as they discuss strategies they have
used to organize labor outside of legal frameworks and protections.
These lessons will be applicable to other Southern workers hoping to
organize their own workplaces and for workers from more "union friendly"
states who have never organized outside the NLRA framework. More info below!
