The bourgeois talk to us about austerity, about tightening our belts,
while they're feasting. If there's an economic crisis, it's their crisisthey want us to pay for through social dismantling. Whether the
productive forces have stopped growing or not, capitalism is a scam! The
figures they throw at us are there only to stun us and make us believe
that the only viable policy is to support the richest and the bosses.
Trickle-down will pay us back! ---- But it is the labor force and
consumption of workers, with or without papers, that support growth, not
this parasitic class clinging to the benches of the Senate, the National
Assembly, and the government. Our response must be worthy of the attack
we've been subjected to! Because, yes, they're putting a gun to our
heads: recession, layoffs, rampant job insecurity, a war on the
precarious, privatization of health and social security, the destruction
of meager social gains, increased military and police budgets, racism
and xenophobia...
Thus, Retailleau, Darmanin, Valls, Le Pen, and other "prophets of lies,"
good little reactionary and fascist soldiers, are there only to distract
us from our material needs. These admirers of Pétainism or French
Algeria have no other ambition than to perpetuate "systemic racism" in
order to capitalize on deep-seated hatreds. To support the far-right
drift, the LR has just elected Retailleau president of their party, and
when he announces a tightening of "conservative" and "liberal" policies,
it is above all irrepressible racist and Islamophobic undertones that he
spews out. They feed us their obsessions with identity the better to
divide us. Moreover, the report on the Muslim Brotherhood commissioned
by the government, which was "leaked" to the press at just the right
time, is there to convince us of the danger. It's as if they're trying
to convert us to Islamophobia! We are not fooled by this
conspiracy-theory report, which recalls, in a contemporary Islamophobic
version, the delusions of the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion." In this
context, their words kill and contribute to racist acts, such as in a
mosque in the Gard region where Aboubakar Cissé was assassinated.
The workers' problems are social inequality and the racism fueled by the
existence of these policies, which hinders our solidarity and prevents
us from thinking about class struggle and self-organization.
These bourgeois bastards even claim to make us goose-step! Whether
you're a teacher or just a layman, the slightest criticism you level at
these rich people is a sign of a club hitting you! Darmanin, champion of
repression, pursues us even into prisons with the drug trafficking law
passed by parliament, which aims only to dehumanize, isolate, and
further insecurity inmates. Supported by Operation "Prison Break"
(sic!), during which 66 penitentiary institutions were raided in search
of cell phones, and by his proposal to make inmates pay for their
incarceration costs.
Repression never lets anyone rest, even after 50 years, as it does for
the former brigadistes still harassed by the Italian government.
Furthermore, with the gradual implementation of Retailleau's immigration
law, the reception of migrants is becoming more stringent, with, on the
one hand, a logic of confinement (extending the duration of detention in
CRA) and, on the other, a tightening of access to social assistance
(minimum social benefits conditional on seven years in the country). At
the European level, the same xenophobic logic against the "migratory
invasion" is present, with "hot spots" for non-EU migrants, even if they
are fleeing wars.
If these are our dead, like Fatma Hassona, known as "Fatem," a
25-year-old photojournalist, they are not our wars, but rather those of
the capitalists and colonialists, now supported by AI and drones. After
a two-month truce in Gaza, the resumption of bombings is bloody, causing
hundreds of deaths daily. Humanitarian workers may be warning of the
massacres and hunger that threaten 2 million people, but nothing is
happening; governments refuse to impose any sanctions against Israel. A
few protests are beginning to appear on the lips of our leaders, but
without substance, without real consequences for Netanyahu, whose Prime
Minister has announced a "vast ground operation" in Gaza. And meanwhile
in France, Darmanin is calling for the dissolution of Urgence Palestine
(no comment) and industrialists are selling their weapons to the Israeli
state (at the Paris Air Show in June); weapons that this Palestinian
woman from Bil'in is determined to transform into a symbol of life,
peace and liberation (see cover).
Capital is restructuring: military and economic tensions between
capitalists, the rise of a brown wave, environmental destruction, and
social decline... this restructuring is never for our good! Faced with
the revival of imperialist projects on a global scale, workers fighting
for another model of society, if they want to "storm heaven," will have
no other choice than internationalism and the fight against colonialism.
Marx's idea that "a people that oppresses another is not a free people"
remains burningly relevant! It is revolutionary resistance against
capital and for a radical transformation of the world that will lead us
towards peace, bread, freedom, and equality. This is why solidarity with
oppressed and/or struggling peoples must remain our compass. So in this
waltz of imperialisms, let's not forget Kanaky, about whom, a year after
the start of the riots and while many Kanaks remain locked up in
mainland prisons, the government spokesperson lamentably declared, "New
Caledonia must absolutely remain within the French sphere"!
War on war! Never on our knees, and that starts with our daily local
struggles, whether in yellow at a roundabout, in red at a roadblock in
Martinique, or in green in an allotment!
