WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE SPAIN - news journal UPDATE - (en) Spain, Catalunya, FAC: ANARCHISM IS PRESENT EVERYWHERE. THE WORLD IN FLAMES (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Today, according to what we can perceive, anarchism is present all over the world, and participates in the actions to achieve the rupture of current society, through struggles, diffusion of the idea and praxis, and participation in the revolts. ---- Without taking into account the great families of anarchism and their organizational diversity, of doing things and thinking, we know that we have a link of union: anarchy. And in order to achieve it we must generate a whole series of social ruptures, since the current world is not reformable.

If we take a look at the already known international organizations, such as the AIT or the CIT, or the IFA, or the international especifista, or the CNA/ABC, we can see that there is implementation in Serbia, Australia, Bangladesh, Spain, France, Brazil, Russia, Norway, Sweden, Indonesia, Slovakia, England, Colombia, Austria, Poland, Philippines, Ireland, Chile, Pakistan, USA, Germany, Canada, Wales, Ireland, Scotland, Argentina, Italy, Greece, Myanmar, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Belgium and Switzerland, Portugal, Kurdistan, Mexico, Sicily, Uruguay, Syria and Belarus.

There are many experiences around the world. These are growing in militancy, projects, projection and influence, to become relevant actors in the configuration of the new world that is to come, after the various crises that we suffer and that we will suffer.

With all this great list, we encourage you to know the names and origins of the different organizations that are part of organized international anarchism and to inform yourself about the struggles they are carrying out.

We present some of these organizations and some of the revolutionary struggles where anarchists are participating and spurring them on.

Federation of the Era Anarchist (FA Era)

Federation of Iran and Afghanistan formed by several groups, collectives, networks, unions and individuals that are self-organized. They operate independently in action and thought, fostering complex and organic relationships. Its initial nucleus was formed outside of Iran, on December 15, 2009. In 2018, the union of Anarchists was established in the regions known as Afghanistan and Iran, which later, in 2020, was renamed the Era Anarchist Federation.

Philippines

After many years of drought, anarchism can now be considered established. There are different currents, with very diverse objectives, and also very different forms of action, from pacifism, to projects to disseminate the idea, creators of culture, to armed groups.

Although there is a greater circulation of anarchism against the organization, in 2020 Bandilang Itim (Black Flag in Tagalog) emerged. Its goal is to be the banner that brings together anarchists and libertarians in the region through editorial production, from a revolutionary platform, in order to produce original and well-documented content on local issues and events, and also to disseminate the writings and ideas of other anarchists in the area in their diaspora.

This organization was born from a group of friends, who already had some experience, since anarchism in the Philippines resurfaced in the 90s.

They are not legalized and want to make their existence known.

Insurrections in Sudan

There is a group called the Anarchist Federation, initially composed of students, since they were the spearhead of the movement for social change and the December Revolution.

Different groups were formed and expanded to various universities throughout the state, making them participate and form more groups through the areas of residence of their colleagues, both in cities and in rural areas, creating groups outside of student communities. Thanks to this expansion, the organization has a majority of women among its ranks.

During 2017 and 2018 they carried out a call to young people and students to overthrow the regime, break the barrier of fear to end the Bashir dictatorship. They organized a wide variety of activities, in which several militants died.

Once the regime had fallen, a call was made to continue the fight against the new military regime. Due to the great pressure exerted by the Sudanese people, General Ibn Auf ended up abdicating.

The brutal repression was strong against the revolutionaries and they were subjected to arrests, floggings, abuse and death threats. But this did not make them abandon the cause and the fight against the authorities.

They organized actions that have helped to demonstrate that the Sudanese self-administrations are a tool to make visible the grandeur of anarchism, which made a large part of the population participate. Due to this fact, the authorities, in fear, initiated a massacre, in which more than 700 unarmed revolutionaries died.

After the heavy repression, with more determination and conviction, they decided that the regime had to fall. Then they began to organize resistance committees in neighborhoods, to group themselves into organized revolutionary groups and to unify the banner of the struggle.

Brutality, murders and violent repression were an inherent characteristic of each action. They knew that they could pay a very high price for all this, with their lives, but they also went out to seek social revolution.

Revolution in Nepal

On September 8, massive and violent protests broke out in Nepal, known as the "Gen Z Revolution". The trigger was the government's ban on 26 social networks (including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, X and Signal), in order to control the youth organization and stop the spread of criticism and calls that escaped its political control. However, the government disguised it as a measure of "national security" and "protection against disinformation". This was the spark that ignited a deeper and accumulated discontent for years: systematic corruption, political nepotism, neoliberal reforms that privatized everything, precariousness and the increase in the cost of living.

The mobilizations led to marches, barricades, confrontations with the police and quickly to an insurrection that materialized in attacks on government buildings, fires and assaults on prisons with prisoners escaping, civil servants fleeing in helicopters or by the river in the midst of the riots. The magnitude of the violence brought down the government and Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli resigned, demonstrating a profound crisis of legitimacy for the political classes.

From the multitude of interests (monarchist, centrist or leftist), anarchism has begun to organize and quietly emerges with growing acceptance, using imagery close to One Piece.

Anarchist and anti-authoritarian groups in Nepal are holding workshops, talks, screenings, exhibitions, musical events, as well as direct actions in the streets. Most anarchist groups believe in organizing without hierarchies, encouraging open conversations even with communist radicals who genuinely seek egalitarian societies. Solidarity within the left movement is essential, so it is judged by actions rather than ideology alone. To support these efforts, they urge awareness of the ongoing human rights violations, including the deaths of at least 72 protesters, many of them young, who were killed while demanding an end to corruption and totalitarianism. Those responsible must be held accountable and justice must be sought without delay.

Indonesia in flames

Contemporary anarchism in Indonesia emerged in the 1980s, around punk. Currently, anarchism is illegal. There are several tendencies, although there are many insurrectionists who are not supporters of organizations.

Since 2011, there has been an anti-anarchist police division, which has kidnapped and imprisoned many people in re-education camps. Despite this, the anarchist movement has continued to grow.

There is the implementation of specifisme, imitating Uruguay, in several cities, but Indonesia is an amalgam of islands, with thousands of ethnicities and languages, which makes coordination and exchange difficult.

Anarchism lives underground there, with organizations and federations that are not made public due to state repression.

At the end of August, there was a wave of protests across the state over austerity measures, the scandalous salaries of politicians, rising inflation, rising poverty, rising housing taxes, and police and military repression and corruption.

On August 25th, everyone took to the streets, where they suffered harsh repression. On the 28th, the National Police ran over and killed a 21-year-old delivery man, and in response, young people, anarchists, and delivery men broke out in revolt, looting police stations, politicians' homes, and government buildings.

By September, thousands had already been arrested (1,300 people were arrested on August 29th).

There are different anarchist groups directly involved in the protests.

There seems to be a "dispute" between insurrectionalism and nihilism, with organizations and syndicalism, for a different strategic vision for the use of force and violence by the insurgents. For a while, the insurrectionalist anarchist narrative was the one that animated and moved things.

Insurrectional, individualist and post-left anarchists focus on attacks and street confrontations, calling for the destruction of the state and capitalism, but without worrying about a platform or program of demands that simply calls for the reform of what already exists.

The anarchist movement has played a crucial role in this as it can exert enormous libertarian influence through a united front working within established groups.

Among the many demands, due to the plurality and organizational type of the protests in each city, an informal, decentralized network and without a rigid structure, the Declaration of the Indonesian Federalist Revolution 2025 was published, which called for the dissolution of the unitary state, and the political system (parliament), and the replacement by a democratic confederalism of thousands of people's councils to implement direct democracy.

Currently we know of the existence of the organizations FAI Indonesia, ABC Indonesia, Persaudaraan Pekerja Anarko Sindikalis (PPAS) and Perhimpunan Merdeka (Association for Freedom).
