We’ve Come Too Far to Turn Away Now Dear friends, For more than two years, Animals First Aid supporters have stood beside Fatim and the team at You Can Save Me (YCSM) in Morocco. You have helped provide food when shelves were empty. You have funded emergency medical care when animals had nowhere else to turn. You have helped build a sanctuary that has become a refuge for cats abandoned, injured, abused, and forgotten. Together, we have saved hundreds of lives. But the calls for help never stop. PLEASE DONATE Cats hit by cars - Credit: YCSM This month alone, Fatim’s team treated 55 cats suffering from severe scabies, providing desperately needed medical care as well as food for animals who would otherwise have continued suffering on the streets. And then came the emergencies. One little cat arrived with a badly broken tooth after an accident. She could barely eat. The pain was so severe that surgery was needed to remove the damaged tooth. For days afterward, she survived only because Fatim carefully fed her soft food while she recovered. Another cat was found after being hit by a car. She was pregnant. Her injuries were horrific. Two fractures. Open wounds already infested with maggots. She had been suffering alone for days before anyone found her. Fatim rushed her to the veterinarian and fought for her life. But despite every effort, she passed away only hours later. It is impossible not to wonder what might have happened if help had reached her sooner. That is why YCSM never stops. Every day they provide food, treatment, shelter, and compassion to animals that have absolutely no one else. The heartbreaking truth is that every rescue stretches their resources further. Medicine costs money. Food costs money. Emergency surgeries cost money. And yet the animals keep coming. The reason YCSM is still standing today is because compassionate people like you refused to look away. When a cat arrives injured, you are the reason treatment is possible.
