Support for Daniil Mukhametov, a Russian deserter whom the French Republic wants to extradite! ---- Daniil, a young Russian electromechanical technician, fled mobilization in Russia because he doesn't want to fight in the war, nor kill or be killed. He jumped from a train crossing Lithuania to reach the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. ---- The Lithuanian authorities are likely to send him back to Russia to avoid upsetting their aggressive neighbor. Daniil then fled to Finland and hitchhiked to France, believing it to be the land of Human Rights and Freedom. But the French Republic has just decided to extradite him to Lithuania. This is almost certainly a death sentence, as he would then be handed over to the Russian authorities who would make him pay for his desertion with the penalty prescribed in such cases: the death penalty.
Exiled friends and Russian deserters have just informed us that they are organizing a support rally on Friday, July 17th. The Olga Taratuta Initiative calls on all those who support deserters and oppose war in general to join this rally, which will take place:
Meeting point: Place Saint Augustin, Friday, July 17th, 4:00 PM
Every deserter brings us closer to peace!
Deserters of all countries, unite!
