WORLD WORLDWIDE AFRICA TUNESIA - AFA - Animals First Aid - She slept in her car because there was nowhere else.

View this  in your browser She slept in her car because there was nowhere else Dear Luc, Two tiny kittens were abandoned. Olfa had nowhere safe to put them. So that night, they slept in her car. One of them was already sick. Olfa knew the kitten needed a veterinarian, but there was another problem: she had no money left. The veterinarians who normally help her were already waiting for payment from previous rescues. And these two kittens are only the latest emergency. PLEASE DONATE Credit: OLFA Animals First Aid has been working in partnership with Olfa for some time now, and we have watched one woman carry a burden that should never have belonged to one person alone. She is caring for around 50 cats at a rented property, seven rescued dogs remain in boarding, and more community cats depend on her near her family home. She has rescued animals from sickness, starvation and extreme heat. Earlier this year, she even came across a female donkey left outside in temperatures of around 42°C, without shade. Olfa gave her water and helped get her somewhere safe. But now Olfa is running out of options. PLEASE DONATE Credit: OLFA More than 20 cats have disappeared or died around the rented property over roughly two and a half years. Some vanished. Others returned terribly ill. Olfa believes several were poisoned. She recently lost Harry Potter. Then another female cat she had rescued, treated, vaccinated and sterilised disappeared too. And still the emergencies keep coming. A kitten needs treatment. Another cat has a badly swollen leg and fever. The growing kittens need vaccinations and sterilisation. The dogs still need boarding. Everyone needs food. PLEASE DONATE Credit: OLFA Olfa told us that in just one recent week she spent more than 2,000 TND on essential supplies for the animals, even using money she had set aside for her own car insurance. Her debts have also become overwhelming. The pet shop that has been allowing her to buy food on credit can no longer continue doing so. The boarding facility is also waiting to be paid. This is the point where one woman simply cannot carry everything alone anymore. PLEASE DONATE Please help Animals First Aid stand beside Olfa and the animals depending on her. A gift of $50 can help provide urgently needed food and basic supplies. $100 can help towards veterinary treatment, medicines and vaccinations. $250 or more can help keep multiple animals fed, treated and safely cared for while Olfa searches for a more sustainable solution. Olfa has spent years refusing to walk away from animals that had nowhere else to go. Today, we are asking you to make sure she does not have to face this crisis alone. Please give whatever you can today.
