OREGON, Wis. -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says his 19-year-old son's decision to act as a witness at the same-sex marriage of a relative is not a policy statement. Walker was asked Tuesday about his son Alex's decision to serve as a witness to the June 9 wedding in Waukesha County. A Moroccan appeals court has upheld the convictions of several men accused of homosexual acts. At least four of the six defendants in the case in central Morocco were convicted July 2 on charges that included “lewd or unnatural acts with an individual of the same sex,” according to Human Rights Watch. WASHINGTON — The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force announced Tuesday that it is withdrawing its support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), fearing that broad religious exemptions included in the current bill could compel private companies to cite objections similar to those that prevailed in last week’s U.S. Supreme Court ruling in a case brought by Hobby Lobby. A provision in Illinois' marriage law is resulting in disappointment for many same-sex couples in neighboring states hoping to cross the border to obtain a marriage license. Enacted years before same-sex marriage became legal in Illinois, the law states law states that a marriage license is void if that couple is barred from marrying in the state where they live. PHOENIX -- Attorneys for the state of Arizona and a group of gay and lesbian couples who sued over the state's ban on same-sex marriage want a judge to decide the case without a trial.
