Resistance to fascism must not result in an institutional celebration
completely separated from current resistance. ---- ON THIS 25 APRIL wewant to remember the resistance of the Palestinian and Kurdish peoples;
the one against military bases and the spread of militarism in society;
against the production and trade of weapons; against all wars of
imperialism. ---- We want to remember the resistance of the young people
who protest and who are beaten by the police; that of women fighting to
defend their rights in an increasingly chauvinistic and patriarchal
society; that of workers who fight against dismissals, for a decent
wage, for safety in the workplace and for a better quality of life.
But we also don't want to forget the resistance directly linked to this
date, to those who fought and even paid with their lives to oppose the
resurgent Nazi-fascism today.
This is not to always look to the past or for empty rhetoric, but
because it is important to preserve and pass on memory. It is important
to know where we come from, to know who we are and where we are going.
ON THIS FIRST OF MAY we do not want to celebrate the empty anniversary
of any "labor day", but to remember its authentically working-class and
internationalist origins, born from the struggle for the reduction of
working hours which has characterized the history of the world
proletariat, for recover and re-propose those contents of unity, hope
and emancipation of the subordinate classes.
Against every frontier, because "our homeland is the whole world"; for a
nature and humanity freed from capitalist exploitation in all its forms;
against racism, repression; against all political and state oppression.
IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
