WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE FRANCE - news journal UPDATE - (en) France, UCL press release: Building a social and popular anti-fascist response (ca, de, fr, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Across Europe, the conservative right and the 50 shades of the extreme
right are achieving the score predicted by polling institutes against a
backdrop of massive abstention. This is the direct consequence of the
budgetary austerity and liberalization policies promoted by the European
Union. From high school to nursing homes through the world of work, it
is all together, at the grassroots, that we will fight, and it is all
together that we will win!
Across Europe, the conservative right and the 50 shades of the extreme
right are achieving the score predicted by polling institutes against a
backdrop of massive abstention. The far right is now in a position of
strength, particularly thanks to the scores achieved in France and
Germany, which will allow it to ally itself occasionally with the
conservative EPP group (whose policies it has already strongly oriented
very far to the right) but also to be a blocking force. European
policies will be even harsher on the working classes and migrants.

This vote for the enemies of the world of work and the friends of big
Capital - although in the minority given the abstention - is a warning
for our social camp. This is the direct consequence of budgetary
austerity policies - destruction of public services, calling into
question social rights and in particular social protections, while for
its part the bourgeoisie enriches itself infinitely - and policies of
liberalization promoted by the European Union.

In France, Macron, stepping stone of the far right
The RN straw man score is the result of institutional violence against
the world of work. Reform of pensions, unemployment insurance, increase
in the remainder of health costs and deficiency in the event of work
stoppage: the list is long of ultra-regressive and repressive laws and
bills hitting hard on the workers, with or without papers. It is also
the result of the numerous speeches on immigration made directly by the
government, from the fight against terrorism to the creation of an
"enemy from within". Individualizing our social camp, strengthening the
camp of the bourgeoisie, Macron and his government have largely favored
the RN which will today be the national party most represented in
Brussels and Strasbourg.

With the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly,
Macron, wanting to be disruptive, in fact obeyed the repeated
injunctions of the RN for weeks. He presented himself as a roadblock, he
will only be the stepping stone of the extreme right.

Unite our social camp around a mass anti-fascist response!
The victory of the reactionary bourgeois camp is not inevitable. Through
counter-powers (union, associative and informal) we have the means to
continue to build the solidarity which was strengthened during the Covid
period. Fighting back against the far right also means derailing the
neoliberal counter-reforms that weaken us collectively and individually:
gaining purchasing power, new social rights and stopping ecocidal
projects requires unity in our social camp. Beyond that, we must also
lead a broad anti-fascist fight to fight the extreme right wherever it
manifests itself and send its ideas back into the dustbin of History
from which they should never have come.

Since its creation, the Libertarian Communist Union has been engaged in
a unitary approach and autonomy of the social movement, continuing those
of Libertarian Alternative (AL) and the Coordination of Anarchist Groups
(CGA): from high school to nursing homes through the world of work, it
is all together, at the base, that we will fight, and it is all together
that we will win!
