On June 2nd, to celebrate the Republic, the state shows off a mega
military parade where the President of the Republic places a laurelwreath in homage to the "unknown soldier" at the altar of the homeland;
April 25th, the celebration of liberation from Nazi-fascism, is a
military picket everywhere. Not to mention November 4th, the "proper"
holiday of the armed forces. ---- Even May 1st, Workers' Day, is often
militarized to prevent the ceremony from actually becoming a day of
internationalist struggle as it was originally intended.
There is a deadly sequel in this chronology, a claimed metaphor of the
military and militaristic hierarchy based on blood and soil that should
be disgusting!
Even Pordenone, the sad militaristic spectacle took place a few days
ago: in a climate of wars and widespread destruction in the world, with
the winds of a possible nuclear escalation at the door, what could be
better than a parade of tanks in the city center?
At the first point of a political struggle we set the objective of
disarming the state.
Antimilitarism as a value and practice should be the daily bread of us
exploited people, who are, still today despite liberal propaganda, the
majority of the country.
